As many of you read, I had a bit of a run-in with Dominos. Long story short: I ordered, angry twittered, called to complain and still received zero food. I even went so far as to start calling the delivery guy Benny though pizza tracker clearly told me his name is Benito. I became concerned for his life and subsequently made jokes about his possible death.
All this aside, I decided to give Domino’s another chance. Come with me now on another Domino’s adventure.
Just after I posted my tale of Dominos woe on this fine blog, I went ahead and ordered some chicken and breadsticks online (again, pizza from a pizza place is so cliché, step outside the pizza box people).
At 8:42pm a lovely young man named Jeff called me because he needed the gate code to bring me my deliciousness. First, this was shocking because Jeff was not the name on pizza tracker… Had he not called, I totally would have answered the door and said “Hi, Cal! Thanks for delivering my Dominos!” How wrong I would have been. (Lesson Learned: NEVER trust pizza tracker) Secondly, it was a little longer than I wanted to wait, but at least this time I got food!
Now for the best part of this story…
My little outcry about Domino’s via twitter caught the attention of whatever fine human that runs their corporate twitter (@Dominos).
And I woke up to a message from one of the other ladies here at YLoQ directing me to pay the hell attention to my own twitter account.
This started up a Direct Message exchange (we call it a DM in the biz) between me and Dominos that led to them forwarding my tale to their customer care team.
All and all, I must say that Domino’s has redeemed themselves for me. I had an extra shitty experience one night but through the power of twitter I was able to make my voice heard. Granted my epic journey might not make it up the food chain of Domino’s corporate but it goes to show that a little customer service goes a long way. And their new recipe for crust/breadsticks is pretty damn delicious. So keep up the good work!
